Nyika Vwaza (UK) Trust (NVT) Privacy Statement

Data protection legislation was introduced in May 2018. The Data Protection Act 2018 (‘DPA’) and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (‘UKGDPR’) is designed to increase protection of personal data held on databases. In order to send you our newsletters, NVT UK keeps your name and contact details on a database, but we must now have your permission to do this. This requires you to send us your written consent. If you wish to receive NVT newsletters from us, please complete the Opt-in form and either email it to sec.nvt@gmail.com, or post it to The Secretary, NVT, 50 Brewery Road, Woking GU21 4NA, UK.

Privacy Statement

Preservation of the privacy of those who use the Trust website or associate with the work of the Trust is important to NVT and we are committed to letting you as users know how we use personal information and to making only responsible use of your data.

References to “we”, “us”, “you” or “our” in this Privacy Policy are references to Nyika Vwaza (UK) Trust (NVT), a charity registered in England and Wales, registered charity number: 1105105. We are committed to keeping your personal information in line with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UKGDPR).

1. Information about you
1.1 We collect personal information from you when you request to become a supporter of the Trust. This will include your name, title and contact details, your bank details for the payment of donations and a gift aid declaration if applicable.
1.2 Your consent will be deemed to last while you remain a supporter.

2. Our use of this information
2.1 Your personal information will only be used to send you our periodic newsletters and notices of other occasional events or matters relating to the Trust.
2.2 We will not share your information with any outside parties without first contacting you.

3. Security
3.1 We will take reasonable precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information you give us.
3.2 Communications about NVT will be sent by post or by e-mail or posted on our website, or shared on our Facebook page or other social media. For ease of use and compatibility, communications will not be sent in an encrypted form. E-mail, unless encrypted, is not a fully secure means of communication. Whilst we endeavour to keep our systems and communications protected against viruses and other harmful effects, we cannot bear responsibility for all communications being virus-free.

4. Cookies: currently NVT does not use cookies.

5.2 This privacy policy may be updated from time to time and posted on the website. It will be reviewed annually.
