The Trustees of the Nyika Vwaza (UK) Trust are:

Mike Budgen

From an early age Mike has had a keen interest in the wildlife of Africa. He has visited a number of countries in southern and central Africa and first went to Malawi in 2003. He spent seven months of 2004 developing Trust operations in both the Nyika National Park and the Vwaza Marsh Wildlife Reserve with the invaluable help of David Foot. At the same time he became one of the first trustees of the Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust. He also visited Chilinda (Nyika National Park) for a few months in 2005 and 2006 to guide trust operations.

He then spent most of 2007 at Chelinda both looking after the interests of the trust and to help with safari activities of the Nyika Safari Company. As a trustee of the Nyika-Vwaza (UK) Trust he has the responsibility of managing the IT elements of trust activities.

Jennie Kettlewell

Jennie spent many years as a director of corporate communication companies, before becoming a consultant working with boards to determine their strategic priorities, advising clients on culture change and development of individuals and teams. For the past three years she has studied botany to learn why plants do what they do and where they prefer to do it. Strong family connections made her curious about Malawi, but she did not go there until January 2013 when she visited Nyika and Vwaza with members of her family. Inspired by the experience, she saw an opportunity to help conserve these special habitats and became a trustee with responsibility for raising awareness of NVT.

Home is West London where she lives with her partner Ian Bruce and is chairman of The Friends of Holland Park.
